ius is a small software application that allows you to perform screen capture operations.

ShotGenius allows to perform 4 different types of screen captures by using some keys combination:
· Full screen capture (SHIFT + F1)
· Screen area capture (SHIFT + F2)
· Active window capture (SHIFT + F3)
· Full screen timed capture (SHIFT + F4) - it produces animated .GIF files, not available when saving screenshots to clipboard.

Pictures can be stored in

the following file formats:
· PNG, Portable Network Graphics
· BMP, Windows Bitmap
· JPG, Joint Picture Experts Group

In ShotGenius 1.1 you can choose to store screenshots in a file or into the clipboard: you can switch from one mode to the other by pressing CTRL+F5 (you can customize this hotkey). The captured images can be saved as .PNG, .BMP or .JPG picture files (you can even set JPG compression level or PNG image quality level). The user is enabled to select the folder where picture files will be saved: if ShotGenius is not able to find the given folder, then it will use the desktop folder.

On the contrary, if you decide to store screenshots in the clipboard, you can paste them into any Windows application that supports the clipboard features, just like Word, OpenOffice.org or any other graphic tool. When “capture to clipboard” mode is active the ShotGenius icon in the tray area gets the red colour in place of blue.

What’s New in This Release:

· You can store screenshots into a file or into the system clipboard.
· Timed capture is automatically disabled when "save to clipboard" mode is active.
· The tray icon becomes red when "save to clipboard" mode is active.
· If ShotGenius runs under Windows 9x/ME and other Windows versions that don't support ballons from the tray area like in XP, messages will appear as common message boxes.
· A hotkey has been added to toggle between "save to file" and "save to clipboard" modes. Default is CTRL+F5 but it can be customized from the options panel…. [ ]
